Gorilla Summit Coffee Project, Bwindi, Kanugu District
The Gorilla Summit Coffee Project was founded in 2012 with the purpose of allowing farmers to earn a better income off of their coffee. They offered training to improve farming and harvesting techniques, built a cherry receiving station, and installed modern processing equipment. Farmers also have access to educational opportunities for youth, chicken farming, and community health care.
The coffee is grown near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and forest.
Tasting notes: sweet and heavy with tart fruit acidity, cocoa, and mild berry
